Fund a Future Scholarship Fund
Seventy-six vulnerable children are thrilled to attend Bright School on Fund a Future scholarships.
Who ?
Our scholarship students…
-
typically live in families where an adult sells fruit or clothes in an outdoor market, braids hair, is a subsistence farmer, or like many, are unemployed.
-
may have been abandoned by one or both parents.
-
often live in homes with no electricity and/or running water. Chickens run freely.
-
consider it a luxury to have one pair of shoes (that fit) and a mattress to sleep on.

often eat only one meal a day—lunch at school.
How much ?
Each scholarship covers Bright School fees, a required school uniform, daily porridge, and sometimes bus transportation to school, shoes, and even health care. A Fund a Future scholarship costs $630 per year. A donation of just $52.50 a month assures that a child in Rwanda has a Bright future!
What differences do scholarships make?
Rwanda’s development relies on every child being healthy, educated, and prepared to support themselves and their families! Bring peace to a family, joy and love of learning, and dreams that can come true.
Scholarship recipients are extraordinarily grateful to attend a school where they feel welcome, and where their challenges, successes, and dreams are supported.
Our scholarship recipients, many of whom have graduated are now in their early 20s, are continuing to flourish. Here are the stories of two families, each with three students who attend(ed) Bright School on Fund a Future Scholarships.
Visha
Charity & Abouba
Chadia
Visha has always been a leader! In P6, he co-led Bright School’s first LEGO robotics team in 2021-22. He’s now in upper secondary, studying tourism, belongs to a dance troupe (follow him here), has been a TEACH Rwanda IT volunteer, and is an intern with STELA Eco-Bots. Visha’s younger siblings, Morgan and Caleb, followed in his footsteps with robotics at Bright School, too. Caleb wants to be a STELA Eco-Bots teacher!
After the 2026 P6 graduation, Charity was in tears! Twice, he came to Jan with huge hugs, saying he was SO thankful that he had gone to school at Bright.
Here Charity is two weeks later, on the last day of summer camp, with the carpentry group. He’s still looking wistful, along with his smiling younger brother, Abouba. Charite’s goal is to work in construction. He loves carpentry and making things.
Their sister Chadia, now in upper secondary school studying math and science (and who hopes to become a doctor) wrote, “Thank you very much for the great help you have given to me and my brothers Charity and Abouba. Your kindness has helped us a lot during school time. We are very grateful for your support and generosity. We will always remember your kindness.”
